Sheri L. Ridge

Sheri L. Ridge was an extraordinary person: a lifelong learner, an active community member, and a caring friend. And she was an avid animal lover. Throughout her life, Sheri saved countless animals. They were drawn to her, in many cases. Strays would show up at her door or by the road as she was passing by, seeming to sense that they had a friend and advocate.

When Sheri passed in 2016, she left a remarkable legacy for animal welfare in Indiana. Her estate gift fuels the life-saving work done at IndyHumane, but her gift is more than simply funds. It is hope, it is second chances, and it is happily-ever-after stories for dogs and cats who call on IndyHumane’s services in their time of need. It is inspiration for the shelter and for our wider community.

The uplifting effects of Sheri’s gift will be felt in perpetuity at IndyHumane, creating an endowment that will continue to provide for animals in need. IndyHumane is immeasurably grateful to Sheri Ridge for her foresight, her advocacy, and her compassion.
