Friends for Life Society

Overview:

The Friends for Life Society at the Humane Society of Indianapolis (HSI) recognizes and honors those who have chosen to support HSI through estate and charitable gift plans.

The programs, services, and mission of the Humane Society of Indianapolis are made possible today in large part because yesterday’s supporters included IndyHumane in their estate plans. Members of the Friends for Life Society share a common bond of generosity and passion for service to the community and pets in need that ensures we are able to pursue our mission for generations to come.

Becoming a Member:

The Humane Society of Indianapolis recognizes the significant role these planned giving donors play and is pleased to pay special tribute to their philanthropic leadership and vision. Becoming a member of the Friends for Life Society is simple, and there are several options available:

• Include the Humane Society of Indianapolis as a beneficiary in a living will or trust.
• Create a life-income gift through a charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder trust, or charitable lead trust.
• Name HSI as a beneficiary or owner of a life insurance policy.
• With your attorney, create a future gift of real estate and/or property.

Upon receipt of your intention to include HSI as a beneficiary of a planned gift, the donor will be recognized as a member of the Friends for Life Society.

Donor Recognition:

Members of the Friends for Life Society are recognized on the Humane Society of Indianapolis’ Web site, and listed in the annual report for the year in which the planned gift is received. Donor names are also added to a register of planned givers at the Humane Society of Indianapolis’ Michigan Road campus beginning with the year their gift is received.

Members will also receive invitations to members-only experiences; special periodic communications relating to planned gifts, changes, or enhancements to the planned giving program at IndyHumane; and other important information about the shelter and its programs.
